LIS Celebrates 30 Years, Unveiling New Book in Luxembourg
LIS celebrated its 30th anniversary, and the unveiling of Income Inequality: Economic Disparities and the Middle Class in Affluent Countries (Stanford University Press, 2013) in Luxembourg on January 8th. To mark the occasion, the University of Luxembourg’s Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education (FLSHASE) hosted a book presentation and panel, introduced by Professor Georg Mein, Dean of the Faculty, and Janet Gornick. The panel featured presentations by contributors Serge Allegrezza of STATEC, Janet Gornick, Markus Jäntti, Teresa Munzi and Piotr Paradowski of LIS, Eva Sierminska of CEPS/INSTEAD, and Louis Chauvel of the University of Luxembourg. The Q&A session was moderated by Conchita d’Ambrosia of the University of Luxembourg. At the same event, LIS bestowed the honorary titles of LIS Senior Scholar upon Professors Chauvel and d’Ambrosia.
